BCal help system: The Tutorial
Step A8: Radiocarbon data elicitation II
BCal now asks for the radiocarbon data for the determinations within Layer
II. Note that only three determinations are shown, but we specified
that there are four determinations in this group. This is because
BCal allows us to specify the maximum number of determinations that can
be shown on one page and the default is three. If you want to be
asked about more or less determinations per page, this can be changed from
the configure page (accessible from the BCal menu).
We enter the radiocarbon data just as before. The main thing to
note here is that since the samples corresponding to these determinations
metabolised in a marine environment, we should apply reservoir corrections.
Recall that the recommended offset for Hawaii is 110±80.
