Step D10:  Format and parameter selection for the time elapsed between two parameters

In order to investigate the effect of modelling a hiatus between Layer III and II, we ask BCal to plot for us an estimate of the time elapsed between the end of Layer III (beta 1) and the start of Layer II (alpha 2).
